(PM.) On Tuesday, Elon Musk revealed that SpaceX and X will be moving their headquarters out of California in protest over a new law signed by Governor Gavin Newsom that allows schools to keep kids’ gender identities from their parents and to escape the deteriorating situation in the city by the bay.
The billionaire said the law was not the main reason for his decision to leave the Pacific coast for the Lone Star state, but that it was what pushed him over the edge.

“This is the final straw,” Musk wrote in a post on X. “Because of this law and the many others that preceded it, attacking both families and companies, SpaceX will now move its HQ from Hawthorne, California, to Starbase, Texas.”
