House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-California) is facing criticism after not directly answering a yes-or-no question on whether an “unborn baby at 15 weeks is a human being.”
Asked the question during her weekly press conference, Pelosi said she is a “big supporter” of Roe v. Wade – the Supreme Court decision making abortion legal – but did not actually answer the question she was asked, which was related to the Supreme Court’s plan to take on a Mississippi law banning abortion after 15 weeks.
“Let me just say that I am a big supporter of Roe v. Wade. I am a mother of five children in six years. I think I have some standing on this issue as to respecting a woman’s right to choose,” she said.
Though she was asked the question a second time, the congresswoman ignored it and quickly moved onto a question on infrastructure.
