As the identity of Ashli Babbitt’s killer had been widely hidden and concealed by the government, many people had speculated about who it could be.
One report by the Spectator suggested that it could be a Secret Service agent on security detail for Mike Pence, but new evidence has now all but proven that report to be beltway gossip. As National File reported on July 1, the man who shot Babbitt appeared to match the description of a Capitol police lieutenant named Mike Byrd. This has now been confirmed, courtesy of the loose-lipped Capitol Hill Sergeant At Arms Timothy Blodgett, who appeared to accidentally admit that Byrd was the killer, as was reported by Gateway Pundit.
