Squatters breaking into and moving into homes is happening all across America especially in big cities like New York and Los Angeles where they are granted rights after the first 30 day, forcing landlords to spend thousands of dollars in an effort to evict them.

Anchor Realty co-owner Walter Lapidus’ recently showed Fox News a Philadelphia-area home that was turned into a multi-colored graffiti mess. The tenants signed an 18 month lease but only paid two months while occupying the property, using the legal system to their advantage.

Realtor Shanequa Garrett describes the situation she encountered with squatters who broke into a home in Houston,Texas. She offers a few tips to homeowners and landlords that could help prevent the situation.
