Video: New York Met Fans Knock-Out An Atlanta Braves Fan With A Devastating Punch During Baseball Game At Citi Field

Just a little dust-up at the ole ball game

Daily Mail

(Daily Mail) Two New York Mets fans sent an Atlanta Braves supporter tumbling after punching him in the face in shocking scenes.

The violent brawl broke out during the huge matchup in the NL East series between the two clubs Saturday.

The rival fans appeared to be in discussion before punches were thrown at Citi Field.

Another fan in the crowd seemed to try to hold the Braves supporter back but the Braves backer did appear to try to swing for the Mets fans.

The Mets duo responded by fighting back and both landed brutal blows to the face, knocking the Braves supporter over the seats behind him.

He was prevented from hitting the ground by the supporter who was trying to intervene before the scrap broke out.

A fellow member in the crowd can be heard in the clip, which emerged on social media, supporting the Mets pair, saying ‘f*** him up.’

It is not clear what started the melee during the doubleheader in New York or what happened to the brawling fans after the tussle.

The Mets fans did however come out with bragging rights as their team won 8-5 in the third game and then won 6-2 later in the day.

The Mets extended their lead at the top of the NL East division with a 69-39 record with the Braves below them with a 64-45 record.

Pete Alonso offered a deceptively simple-sounding assessment of things for the Mets after they played games Nos. 107 and 108 — completing exactly two-thirds of their regular-season schedule — Saturday afternoon and evening.

‘We’ve got a lot of time left and we want to make the most out of every single day,’ Alonso said.

The Mets certainly made the most out of Saturday, when their doubleheader sweep of Atlanta drastically cut the amount of time left for the Braves to mount a charge in the National League East.
