(PM.) Yoel Roth, the disgraced former head of trust and safety at Twitter who infamously played a key role in censoring Hunter Biden’s ‘laptop from hell,’ which helped bring Joe Biden over the finish line during the 2020 presidential election, has been selected to be a keynote speaker for an international “fact-checking” conference put on by the Poynter Institute.
The organization has a strong focus on what it calls “misinformation,” and is the owner of Politifact, a leftist “fact-checking” website that claims to be “nonpartisan” despite its blatantly clear bias. One clear example of this was seen in June of last year when the organization falsely claimed that it is “misinformation” and “not accurate” to suggest that red flag gun laws lack due process.
Beware of misinformation about red flag laws, including critics who say they lack due process, which is not accurate. Another false claim is that the laws allow people with a grudge, such as an ex-spouse, to take guns away. https://t.co/6hY8VcICNR

A website for the summit notes that the mission involves addressing “global misinformation,” and that GlobalFact 10 intends to “mobilize the collective power of truth, transparency and accountability as a counteroffensive” to such a thing. It also boasts of its “global network of fact-checking operations from 65 countries.”
As was noted by The Federalist, Roth played a large role in helping Twitter collude with the FBI to silence numerous Americans prior to the company’s acquisition by Elon Musk. This effectively allowed the federal agency to subvert its obligation to the First Amendment, as it can now blame the censorship on a supposedly “private” firm. The former Twitter exec was one time seen expressing that he wished he had gone further with his internet censorship, even suggesting during a public congressional hearing that he should have banned the popular social media account Libs Of TikTok, which is known for reposting videos that were originally shared by leftists, all while adding no commentary of its own.
Roth also drew further infamy after he ultimately left Twitter under the leadership of Musk, who pointed out that Roth wrote a dissertation in 2016 that suggested adult internet services should be easier for children to access.
Looks like Yoel is arguing in favor of children being able to access adult Internet services in his PhD thesis: pic.twitter.com/1NiBohjhMQ
