The U.S. military carried out a strike against an apparent suicide bomber in a crowded neighborhood northwest of Kabul airport that set off a series of secondary explosions, indicating a “substantial amount of explosive material” was inside the vehicle, according to Capt. Bill Urban, spokesman for U.S. Central Command.

U.S. military forces said “We are confident we successfully hit the target.”
