(Not The Bee) Did you hear about the shooting in North Dakota? No? Why not?
Don’t we have national news corporations?
Let’s see: A man had a grenade, three semi-auto rifles with 53 magazines, four handguns with at least 10 magazines, and nearly 2,000 rounds of ammo… you’d think CNN, ABC, CBS, and NBC would be all over this story to push gun control!!
Ah, but the hero was a white cop, the villain was a man named Mohamad, and the people in danger were in a conservative town.
Here are the details:
On Friday, July 14, four Fargo officers were responding to a car crash on a busy street when Mohamad Barakat, 37, opened fire on them from his car in a nearby parking lot. Barakat’s initial attack killed 23-year-old Officer Jake Wallin and wounded officers Tyler Hawes, 22, and Andrew Dota, 28.
Fargo Officer Zach Robinson likely prevented a deadly terror attack last weekend
He killed Mohamad Barakat, who was armed with a grenade and 1,800 rounds of ammo

The wounded officers returned fire on Barakat, who was armed with a rifle chambered in .223 and a 60-round mag, but Barakat was able to unload around 40 rounds. One of these hit a civilian, Karlee Koswick, standing on the sidewalk at the scene of the crash.

Other locals were narrowly spared. Shannon Nichole said a bullet came through her windshield, according to KFGO Radio.
Officer Zach Robinson, who was away from the other officers, returned fire over two minutes, firing 31 shots. He hit and disabled Barakat, who fell to the ground. Robinson approached Barakatas the assailant waved a 9mm pistol in the air.
After Barakat refused multiple orders, Robinson “neutralized” the threat.
Barakat’s car
Authorities believe the attack was merely the first phase of Barakat’s plans after finding the small armory in Barakat’s car.
It’s important to realize that most gunfights are over in seconds. This one lasted for minutes, but Robinson held his own:
Nerves of steel.
Robinson is married with a young child and a baby on the way… and he put it all on the line to stop this murderer.
It is also important to highlight that Robinson was the last officer left standing after his three colleagues were wounded or critically injured.
There were two large fairs happening in downtown Fargo at the time:
The shootout happened at a time when large, public events were happening in town; the Downtown Fargo Street Fair and the Red River Valley Fair. When asked if he believes the suspect had a bigger plan, Attorney General Drew Wrigley simply said “yes.” https://t.co/pUqDDlBrYk
