(Just The News) Former President Donald Trump stands as the clear favorite among Republicans to win their party’s nomination in 2024, a recent Fox News survey revealed.
Trump stood 15 points ahead of closest rival Ron DeSantis, earning 43% support to the Florida governor’s 28%. Former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley and former Vice President Mike Pence both claimed 7% support each.
Thus far, Trump, Haley, and healthcare and tech mogul Vivek Ramaswamy are the only Republicans to have officially announced their candidacies. The Fox survey did not include Ramaswamy.
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and former Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney each claimed 2% support while South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott, and Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin each claimed 1% support.
Though widely considered the strongest potential challenger to Trump, DeSantis has not announced his candidacy nor explicitly indicated any ambitions toward such a bid. The Fox survey is one of the latest to reflect a trend that shows the former president reclaiming his dominant position in the primary field.
