(Just The News) Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., introduced a resolution to censure Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., on the House floor Thursday.
The privileged resolution focuses on Tlaib’s anti-Israel statements and actions.
The resolution also alleges that Tlaib helped organize the pro-Palestinian pro-ceasefire protest and sit-in that took place on Capitol Hill last week, which resulted in arrests.
The resolution will “appear in the record” for two legislative days and be put to a vote at a later date, according to the presiding officer on the House floor.
Tlaib was one of 9 Democrat members who voted on Wednesday against a resolution to condemn the Hamas attack on Israel.
Tlaib issued a statement in response to the resolution.
“Marjorie Taylor Greene’s unhinged resolution is deeply Islamophobic and attacks peaceful Jewish anti-war advocates. I am proud to stand in solidarity with Jewish peace advocates calling for a ceasefire and an end to the violence. I will not be bullied, I will not be dehumanized, and I will not be silenced,” she said.
