Socialist International Endorses Kamala Harris For President, Social Media Reacts

The endorsement follows ongoing criticism of Harris by her Republican opponent, President Donald Trump, regarding allegations that the vice president is a ‘Marxist Communist’

The Post Millennial

(PM.) Socialist International endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for President on Thursday, writing on X that it is “confident” Harris would “make history” in the upcoming election by becoming “the first woman President of the United States.”

The endorsement follows ongoing criticism of Harris by her Republican opponent, former President Donald Trump, and his supporters regarding allegations that the vice president is a “Marxist Communist.” Trump routinely refers to Harris as “Comrade Harris,” a nickname he granted her for her policies.

The organization, which establishes commissions to globally advance socialism, wrote on X: “From the Socialist International, we proudly support Kamala Harris in her candidacy for the upcoming November 5 elections. We are confident she will make history as the first woman President of the United States.”

Harris has not yet publicly responded to the endorsement.

According to Socialist International’s website, the organization “was founded a hundred years ago in order to coordinate the worldwide struggle of democratic socialist movements for social justice, human dignity, and democracy. It brought together parties and organizations from different traditions which shared a common goal: democratic socialism.”

During a Trump campaign event in Michigan on Thursday, the 45th president said, “This election is not a choice between Democrats and Republicans. It’s a choice between communism and freedom.”

Individuals on X, mostly conservative accounts, failed to find the organization’s endorsement of Harris surprising.
