Have we reached a point in this yearlong pandemic where we’ll simply watching anything presented as new, no matter how outdated and redundant the comedy?
That seems to be the test put forward by the Eddie Murphy production of “Coming 2 America,” debuting on Amazon Prime Friday. Murphy is undeniably one of the greatest onscreen funnymen from these past 40 years, but one has to wonder if streaming services in an increasingly competitive market are that desperate for fresh content with big names attached.
