(PM.) House Speaker Kevin McCarthy said on Monday that the House will undertake an impeachment inquiry into Biden’s Attorney General Merrick Garland by July 6.
The Daily Mail’s Kelly Laco reports that McCarthy said “And if it comes true what the IRS whistleblower is saying, we’re going to start impeachment inquiries on the attorney general.”
NEW: @SpeakerMcCarthy says House will begin impeachment inquiry into AG Garland by July 6 based on new bombshell IRS whistleblower allegations.
“And if it comes true what the IRS whistleblower is saying, we’re going to start impeachment inquiries on the attorney general.”

McCarthy said on Sunday that US Attorney David Weiss, for Delaware, “must provide answers to the House Judiciary Committee” as to why an investigation into Hunter Biden’s taxes was stalled.
This comes after IRS whistleblower Gary Shapley testified that Weiss, and others, obstructed their investigation in the younger Biden’s taxes, with Weiss saying at one point that he would not decide if the prosecution should take place, but would leave it to the higher-ups at the DOJ.
“We need to get to the facts,” McCarthy said, “and that includes reconciling these clear disparities. US Attorney David Weiss must provide answers to the House Judiciary Committee. If the whistleblowers’ allegations are true, this will be a significant part of a larger impeachment inquiry into Merrick Garland’s weaponization of DOJ.”
