Meena Plaza Towers has been declared the world’s ‘tallest building to be demolished using explosives’ (controlled demolition) and in doing so, set a new Guinness World Record.
It was comprised of four high-rise structures, a total of 144 floors, all of which were demolished in 10 seconds, with stable non-primary explosives placed in 18,000 drill holes within the structures.
Work was stopped on the building in November 2012 after the project’s owners and builders became embroiled in a dispute.
