(Daily Wire) Vice President Kamala Harris faced widespread criticism this week over the conditions that were set for her to finally agree to be interviewed following a 40-day media blackout after becoming the Democratic Party’s de facto nominee last month.
Harris will be interviewed Thursday on CNN by leftist Dana Bash and she will be accompanied by her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.
The interview will air at the same time that the first full slate of college football games kick off on Thursday night — 21 games total — after only a few were played over the weekend.
Harris faced mockery and criticism for her inability to do the interview by herself.
“I don’t know if Democrats fully realize how damaging the image of the possible first woman president being incapable of giving an interview alone without the presence of a man to help her is,” said Meghan McCain.
Former CBS News White House Correspondent Mark Knoller posted on X: “Should CNN have insisted on a one-on-one interview with Harris and turned down a joint interview with Harris and Walz? Too tough to walk away from. But first question to Harris ought to be why should couldn’t appear solo.”
CNN political commentator Scott Jennings said that it was “incredibly weak” that Harris could not do the interview by herself and that it showed the party did not have confidence in her.
Weak sauce for Kamala Harris to demand an emotional support animal for her first interview. Shows an extreme lack of confidence for Thursday night event on @cnn pic.twitter.com/ZrjGF2nNLz
