The national Black Lives Matter foundation is calling for amnesty for Jussie Smollett, as the left-wing actor faces a likely conviction for orchestrating a hate hoax in Chicago in 2019 seeking to portray himself as a victim. Smollett’s accused of paying two Nigerian brothers to play the role of white Trump supporters who would “attack” him in a homophobic and racist hate crime.
The BLM organization cited its commitment to abolishing the police as cause enough to let Smollett off the hook for the hoax. A statement attributed to Mena Abdullah ripped the Chicago Police Department as racist.
“In our commitment to [police] abolition, we can never believe police…over Jussie Smollett, a Black man who has been courageously present, visible, and vocal in the struggle for Black freedom.”
