Video: CNN’s Jake Tapper Parrots Hamas Propaganda, Suggests Israel Has Gone Too Far Defending Itself

CNN is notoriously anti-American, spouting liberal extremist talking points

(BPR) CNN anchor Jake Tapper suggested that Israel’s moves to defend itself from the terrorists who want to wipe out the Jewish state by going on the offensive in Gaza is akin to war crimes committed by Russia in Ukraine.

It was probably only a matter of time until the strong media support for Israel after over 1,000 of the Jewish nation’s civilians were slaughtered by Hamas terrorists began to give way to the same old bashing of America’s critical Middle East ally and Tapper may as well have been parroting Hamas talking points on Sunday’s edition of “State of the Union” with his talk of dead Palestinian children and collective punishment.

Tapper welcomed feckless Biden national security advisor Jake Sullivan for a conversation on Gaza and the administration’s response to Israel’s Operation Iron Swords which could be a prolonged and nasty campaign to eliminate Hamas in the densely populated area where the terrorists are notorious for using civilian facilities such as schools and hospitals for cover.

After Sullivan explained the administration’s stance on civilians in a war zone, Tapper invoked the reports of the dead children before his insinuation that Israel was guilty of carrying out war crimes, similar language to that used by Democrat Hamas sympathizers in Congress.

“Well, I mean, you say you stand for the rule of law, again, Hamas is vile. What they did eight days ago, they’re targeting civilians, it’s horrific. But what’s going on right now is not just a punishment of Hamas,” he said.

“More than 700 children have been reportedly killed in Gaza and obviously, electricity, food, water, and supplies have been cut off by Israel to the totality of Gaza. Obviously, the blockade is not just by Israel, it’s by Egypt, too. Take a listen to what Secretary Blinken said last year when Putin was targeting Ukrainian infrastructure,” Tapper added, teeing up a clip of Biden’s mealy-mouthed Secretary of State Antony Blinken.

“Heat, water, electricity for children, for the elderly, for the sick. These are President Putin’s new targets. He’s hitting them hard. This brutalization of Ukraine’s people is barbaric,” the nation’s top diplomat said in the clip.

“Now look, Israel is not Russia, Gaza is not Ukraine. It’s a different situation, but cutting off supplies, cutting off heat, cutting off water to civilians, what’s the difference?” Tapper asked.

“Well, first, thank you for saying that Israel is not Russia, because Israel is not Russia. Second…,” the left-wing propagandist said, as he talked over Sullivan. “But civilians are civilians, Jake. Civilians are civilians.”

“Yes, absolutely, they are. And they deserve, as I said before, access to water and medicine and food. And we are working actively to ensure that that happens. And I can tell you this morning, Jake, that I have been in touch with my Israeli counterparts just within the last hour who report to me that they have, in fact, turned the water pipe back on in southern Gaza. That has been the subject of discussion over the course of the past few days. The United States is going to continue working with Israel, with the U.N., with Egypt, with Jordan, and with a lot of the groups on the ground to make sure that innocent Palestinians get access to those basic necessities,” Sullivan said, noting that the water was turned back on for Gaza.

Last week Fox News Chief Political Analyst Brit Hume predicted that “howls of outrage” over Israel’s war on Hamas would “test” American resolve to support the Jewish state.
