The lockdown at the Pentagon has lifted after shots were fired outside the nearby Metro station, spurring a large police response and reports of multiple injuries.

Shortly before noon, the Pentagon Force Protection Agency, which acts as the police force for the Pentagon, referred to the area near the Metro entrance and bus platform area as an “active crime scene,” but said the scene is secure.

The lockdown lasted for about an hour and a half. The nearby Pentagon Metro station remains closed.

Authorities are expected to provide an update on the shooting at a news conference Monday.
