Poll: Almost 50% Of Republicans Think Verdict Was Wrong In Derek Chauvin Trial

Forty-six percent of Republicans believe that the jury reached the wrong verdict in the Derek Chauvin trial, according to a new CBS News poll.

“Three in four Americans think the jury reached the right verdict in which former police officer Derek Chauvin was found guilty of murder in the death of George Floyd, a majority view that spans across all racial, age and partisan groups,” reported CBS News.

Categorized by race, 70% of white Americans and 93% of black Americans believe the right verdict was reached, with 30% of white Americans and 7% of black Americans believing the wrong verdict was reached.

When categorized by political party, 90% of Democrats believe that the right verdict was reached, while 10% of Democrats believe the wrong verdict was reached. This changes slightly when it comes to independents, with 75% believing the right verdict was reached and 25% believing the wrong verdict was reached.
