(100percentFedUp) Gisele Fetterman has opted to head to Canada for vacation with her kids following her husband, Pennsylvania’s Senator John Fetterman’s hospitalization.
On Wednesday, February 8th, 53-year-old Senator Fetterman was admitted to the hospital after feeling “lightheaded” and is being monitored for signs of a seizure, reaffirming the concerns that many people have that he is not fit to be serving in political office. Neither physically nor mentally.
While the media downplayed Fetterman’s health challenges following a serious stroke in May, the New York Times finally came out with the hard truth about Fetterman’s condition.
The NYT report revealed that Fetterman has trouble hearing people’s voices clearly. “When it’s bad, Mr. Fetterman has described it as trying to make out the muffled voice of the teacher in the ‘Peanuts’ cartoon, whose words could never be deciphered,” they reported. They also noted that the adjustment to life as a Senator has been difficult for Fetterman, “a physical impairment and serious mental health challenges – have rendered the transition extraordinarily challenging.”
Gisele shared on Twitter that when the news of Fetterman’s mental health issues emerged, she decided it was time to hit the road rather than talk to the press, or stay at her husband’s side to support him.
She tweeted, “I am not really sure how to navigate this journey but am figuring it out slowly. 1 week ago today when the news dropped, the kids were off fro school and media trucks circled our home. i did the first thing I could think of…pack them in the car and drive.”
She continued “We drove into…Canada ( and lovely Buffalo NY) (Pro Tip: always have passports ready just in case you have to run away) We talked about lots of hard things and how we will all have to face hard things. About the need to be gentle…with all and with ourselves.”

Gisele’s Twitter thread continued, “We did some scary things, but we did them together. We zip-lined over Niagara Falls, and August got stuck. We talked about flexibility and the need to always have an open heart and an open mind.”
“We also talked about how joy and fun can and must always exist, even when someone we love is in pain. And tomorrow. Who knows. Will try all over again.

While some encouraged Gisele to focus on herself, others called out her behavior.
Sean Davis tweeted, “She dragged her husband into a grueling Senate race that he wasn’t physically or mentally able to handle due to his stroke, and now that he’s in the hospital struggling with severe depression and stroke after-effects she’s going on vacation and preening for BlueAnon attagirls.”

Another Twitter user agreed but added that Jill Biden’s actions, like Gisele Fetterman’s, were wrong. She noted that both women have husbands who are mentally and physically challenged by their public offices, yet neither woman has stepped forward to publicly dissuade their spouse from taking on a role their health prevents them from performing well,
