(Washington Examiner) Former President Donald Trump announced that he will be fact-checking President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address.
Trump, frequently the target of live fact-checking by activists and outlets, decided to flip the script by declaring his intention to do the same to Biden. In his announcement over Truth Social, Trump made sure to note that he would be on the lookout for any statements regarding immigration and the legal cases against himself.
“I am pleased to inform you that tomorrow night we will be doing a LIVE, Play by Play, of Crooked Joe Biden’s State of the Union Address,” he said. “I will correct, in rapid response, any and all inaccurate Statements, especially pertaining to the Border and his Weaponization of the DOJ, FBI, A.G.s, and District Attorneys, to go after his Political Opponent, ME (something never done before in this Country!). We did this once before to tremendous success – Beating All Records. It is important for the Country to get the TRUTH!”
Trump did something similar last year, as alluded to in the post. In last year’s announcement, he was more direct in trolling Biden.
“If properly done, and if Joe has just a modestly good night, this speech has the opportunity to rival any of the World’s great orators, including, Lincoln, Washington, and, of course, the late, great, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Sir Winston Churchill,” he said at the time.
