Feel Good Christmas Story: Would-Be Robber Slips On Ice, Knocks Himself Out In A Scene Akin To Movie ‘Home Alone’

Daily Mail

(Daily Mail) A Georgia man’s attempt to rob a business on Christmas morning went askew when he slipped on a patch of ice while trying to get away.

Gainesville police say it was ‘like a scene from Home Alone.’

Luis Sajbocho-Ordonez, 30, allegedly hid behind the business in Gainesville and pulled out a gun, demanding cash from an employee who exited the rear of the building early Sunday morning.

It happened around 1 a.m. Sunday behind the business on 415 Atlanta Highway.

As Sajbocho-Ordonez tried to flee the scene, he slipped on ice and now his injuries are being compared to Marv, a character in the movie Home Alone who famously slipped on ice while trying to break into the McCallister’s house in the 1990s Christmas classic.

In Sunday’s incident, Sajbochol-Ordonez was treated on scene by EMS and then hauled off to the Hall County Jail where he was charged with armed robbery and aggravated assault. Police said additional charges are possible.

Gainesville Police released more information on their Facebook page, describing the incident ‘like a scene from Home Alone.’
