Joseph Oberhansley gets life in 2014 murder, cannibalism case

Joseph Oberhansley, the southern Indiana man found guilty of murdering his ex-girlfriend in a second trial, will spend life in prison.

A judge in Clark County formally sentenced him on Tuesday, weeks after the jury made the recommendation.

Oberhansley was found guilty of murder and burglary connected to the death of Tammy Blanton in 2014.

Her mutilated body was found in a bathroom covered with a tarp. Oberhansley later made a full confession, admitting to the murder, as well as a subsequent act of cannibalism.
