CNN Fires Chris Cuomo Effective Immediately Over Involvement In Brother Andrews Sexual Harassment Allegations

CNN announced on Saturday afternoon that they fired star host Chris Cuomo in response to new information coming out about his alleged involvement in helping his brother, then-New York Democrat Governor Andrew Cuomo, navigate a public relations crisis involving sexual misconduct allegations.

“Chris Cuomo was suspended earlier this week pending further evaluation of new information that came to light about his involvement with his brother’s defense,” CNN said in a statement. “We retained a respected law firm to conduct the review, and have terminated him, effective immediately.”

“While in the process of that review, additional information has come to light,” the network added. “Despite the termination, we will investigate as appropriate.”

Cuomo was suspended on Tuesday after documents released by New York Attorney General Letitia James showed that he was more involved in helping his brother than he previously disclosed.
