But as people increasingly refer to pets as their “fur babies,” animals are more often becoming a bone of contention in divorce proceedings.
“Believe it or not, people going through divorce will fight about anything, even pets,” said Framingham divorce lawyer Matthew Barach. “Similar to children, we find ourselves drafting and working with people to develop parenting plans, but for their pets.”
