Party leaders have no idea why their account was suspended

Following a letter penned by GOP leadership in the Senate and Assembly to Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, the Twitter account for the Conservative Party in New York state was reinstated late Thursday after a two-month suspension from the social media site.

Senate Minority Leader Robert Ortt and Assembly Minority Leader Will Barclay called on Dorsey and the company to “cease and desist” from violating the New York State Conservative Party’s “constitutionally-protected” right to free speech in a letter to the CEO on Thursday afternoon. Political party leaders have had no idea why their account was suspended. The last time the Conservative Party account – @cpnys – tweeted was July 9.
