(BPR) Pro-Trump conservatives reacted with excitement Tuesday to news that former President Donald Trump recently met with billionaire Elon Musk.
The New York Times confirmed via anonymous sources that Trump met with Musk, along with “a few wealthy Republican donors,” in Palm Beach on Sunday. The Times’ sources also said that Trump has recently praised Musk to his allies and is seeking a one-on-one meeting with him sometime soon.
“It’s not yet clear whether Mr. Musk plans to spend any of his fortune on Mr. Trump’s behalf,” according to the Times. “But his recent social media posts suggest he thinks it’s essential that Mr. Biden be defeated in November — and people who have spoken to Mr. Musk privately confirmed that is indeed his view.”
It’s true Musk has been exceedingly critical of President Joe Biden as of late, particularly on the issue of illegal migration:
Biden’s strategy is very simple:
1. Get as many illegals in the country as possible.
2. Legalize them to create a permanent majority – a one-party state.
That is why they are encouraging so much illegal immigration. Simple, yet effective. pic.twitter.com/B9M5ypUOQB

Treason indeed! Ushering in vast numbers of illegals is why Secretary Mayorkas was impeached by the House.
They are importing voters. This is why groups on the far left fight so hard to stop voter ID requirements, under the absurd guise of protecting the right to vote. https://t.co/WhtVFyS6sa

The massive flood of illegal immigration is due to 94 executive actions by the Biden administration.
Until those executive actions are revoked, claims by Biden that he wants to address illegal immigration are a bold-faced lie. https://t.co/kxTz2asvPr

“[A] person close to Mr. Musk, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said that if he does get behind Mr. Trump, his views about immigration will have been a significant motivator,” the Times notes.
The Times, a far-left outlet, goes on to bemoan that Musk could, were he to decide to financially back Trump, “almost single-handedly erase what is expected to be Mr. Biden and his allies’ huge financial advantage over the former president.”
Conversely, it’s very unlikely — if not outright impossible — that Musk will suddenly change teams and back Biden instead, given as the two have been at each others’ throats.
For example, in 2021 the president purposefully didn’t invite Musk’s electric vehicle company Tesla to an electric vehicle summit.
Years later, Musk still remains upset over this:
Let’s not forget the White House giving Tesla the cold shoulder, excluding us from the EV summit and crediting GM with “leading the electric car revolution” in the same quarter that they delivered 26 electric cars (not a typo) and Tesla delivered 300 thousand.

The Biden administration has also opened multiple investigations into Musk over his business practices.
That being said, the Times notes Musk did visit the Biden White House in September to discuss artificial intelligence. However, he and Biden didn’t meet during the visit.
As previously noted, news of Trump meeting with Musk triggered excitement from conservatives.
