The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles is making it so people can no longer change the gender listed on their driver’s license based on their chosen “gender identity.”
Now whatever your birth sex is is your sex listed on your license.
I can’t WAIT to hear how this endangers trans lives or whatever they’re saying now.
Florida’s DMV makes it clear that, while changing your gender on your license might make you “feel” good, it completely undermines the entire purpose of the license.
TL;DR:
Florida ain’t messing around either. They aren’t going to be handing out new IDs based on someone’s feelings.
And apparently, this WILL potentially “hurt” the trans community because it’s a crime to lie on official documents.
