Leftist Comedian Jon Stewart Slams Hunter Biden’s Role In Burisma, Call It ‘Corruption Straight Up’

The statement is surprising given that Stewart is one of the Democrats biggest apologists and often has his head in the sand

New York Post

(New York Post) Comedian and liberal icon Jon Stewart slammed Hunter Biden’s past role serving on the board of a Ukrainian energy firm as “corruption straight up off the bat.”

The 59-year-old left-leaning funnyman made the candid remark about President Biden’s son on an episode of his “The Problem with Jon Stewart” podcast released on Wednesday.

Stewart and his guest, British journalist Gabriel Gatehouse, were discussing how Hunter’s infamous abandoned laptop — exposed by The Post in 2020 — was initially downplayed and branded a conspiracy theory by mainstream media ahead of the election.

While the host appeared to dismiss the laptop’s contents, he said the 52-year-old first son’s involvement on the board of Burisma — for which he was paid $1 million a year, according to invoices found on the laptop — was “corrupt on its face.”

“I don’t need a laptop with like a hint of circumstantial evidence,” Stewart said.

“Now tying Joe Biden to it, that’s gonna take some digging. And if it’s real, you know, that’s a thing,” he added, referencing claims Biden was aware of his son’s controversial deals.

“But the idea that nepotism would allow much larger amounts of money to flow into the hands of people unqualified, to be in the positions that they’ve been accepted because you think those countries are trying to buy influence.

“Welcome to the f—ing world. And I think I think it’s a huge problem on its face. Forget about any secret laptop.”
