The global trade of beauty products is big business, not just with well known brands, but with knock-offs.
Consumers pay for the promise of what high dollar products will deliver.
They may fall victim to false advertising or worse, purchase a counterfeit beauty product that’s tainted with impure ingredients.
“If you’re putting that on your skin, if you’re putting that it on your eye, you’re ingesting it,” said Homeland Security Investigations Deputy Special Agent in Charge, Craig Larrabee. “You’re taking a big gamble.”
